There is a really nice horizontal scrollable image gallery at the top of the page where users can click on different stories and navigate to the page.

Does anyone have any ideas how I might be able to do this on my own or if there is a tutorial out there that could possibly help me out??

That particular example appears to be very much hand-coded, though they are using the jQuery JavaScript library
