Hi, I am curious about which XHTML coding everyone uses and is there any real point of using Strict rather than transitional?

I have use transitional for my pages and such but that is only because that is what I have my settings set for Dreamweaver.

This has been a big stumper for me.

I like strict because it encourages better coding practices in validation. Other than that there's not really a benefit to either.

I think most people uses the transitional setting for dreamweaver. But sometimes when you validate your site, the validator may sense that the code is within "strict" rules thus having a strict code... Some people code in "strict" because this is the best practice in regards to the principles of structural coding.... But the validator doesn't take into regards things such as semantics and optimization (not too many divs).. so there you go..

Thanks guys that was helpful info. So what would you recommend? I try not to use div tags for everything. There was actually a good blog post about that on "web designer wall" recently.
