OK I'm not even sure if I am in the right discussion area, so mods please bounce me if I am not.
I am creating an online shop for my sister, and although I am familiar with graphics and content (obviously) coding and such, I have NO IDEA how to create an actual "interactive" shop where someone can click on "buy this item" and it gets added to their cart. Which is something else I don't know how to do - create a shopping cart! I know this is a pretty detailed/extensive question so if anyone even knows of an online tutorial I can go read or purchase, that would be fab!
OH almost forgot, do I need to have a special kind of website building software/program to get this done??
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Download a shopping cart that will run on whatever server side code and database your hosting supports.

Or use a hosted solution such as RomanCart or PayPal BuyNow Buttons.

* Inorder to active online shopping on your website, you will need to setup a merchant account with payment gateway like(Paypal, Google Checkoutetc..).

* Once you create a merchant account then soon after proceed with shopping cart installation, at the time of installation you will get an option of payment gateway from where you can select yours.

* Now you will need to integrate this shopping cart with your website. That's it!

You can register with PayPal. After setting up your account just follow their instructions to add to your page, item, graphic, etc., the code they'll give you according to your needs.
