All good suggestions. I always forget about w3schools and Tizag and other sites similar. I refer to those sites a lot but I never think to recommend learning from there. Stickies in the forum are also a good idea.

HTML Dog is good too. I don't know if I would want to learn from w3schools and similar sites though. I feel like those sites are more for reference and not to learn step-by-step. But that is just my opinion.

I agree with your opinion, I am not faulting w3schools because I also have learned from them, but the references are snippets here, snippets there, nothing for putting a very simple webpage together from the beginning to the end for the beginner, and they can actually see what they are coding.

Didn't mean to have a duplicate Chris, was doing some changes in my post, apparently two posts went out.

You can't create website with PHP!

You CAN use PHP to create the HTML for the site of course.

I have been doing webdesign since July 2009 and the way I learnt is,

1. Youtube was my first step (it is easy to learn while seeing what the person is doing

2. w3schools.com is where I learnt more

3. Here is where I ask about things if I can't get things to work.
