Hello, I am a Graphic Designer, but my web knowledge is minimal. I needed a basic site for my clothing company, so I decided to take the opportunity to learn the basics of web design / dreamweaver. Eventually, I will pay someone to develop a dynamic site with a shopping cart, but for now, this is all I needed. So, long story short this is the first site I've ever designed. It looks pretty good except the navigation shifts a little bit between pages at some resolution sizes. Also, at some resolution sizes, there is a pesky gray line that appears in/under a couple tables. The lines in question appear under the regular map on the "REP YOUR STATE" page, and above the text on the "CONTACT" page.

Site link.

I'm sure that my site is probably sloppily coded in the eyes of the experts, but if anyone could point me in a direction to fix these couple of main issues, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I see that you're using table... It's ok, as long as you're comfortable with it.

Anyway, I think (which I look into it)...

"REP YOUR STATE", it was your map with the line on the bottom, no? Try check it again?

The line on the "CONTACT" page was actually a broken image icon from the browser.

I assume you use some sort of auto HTML export? Those software likes to create small 1x1px image as a space. I saw a lot of "file:///D|/design/MINDSTATE/2/images/spacer.gif" is not included.

Hope that help...

No, this is not "ok". Learn how to write css. It's not that hard to learn. Tables are meant for tabular data, not website structure.

you can learn the basics in a few hours. look here: http://www.csstutorial.net/

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I am aware that tables are not the ideal way to design a website, but as I said this is my first attempt. I tried to research designing with divs but couldn't understand how it would work with my layout. The only technique I vaguely knew was the old photoshop layout to slices technique, so that's what I did.

When I brought the original layout into dreamweaver, I had some blank slices not showing up, so I just deleted them, which I am assuming is my issue???

If nobody has a quick solution, then I suppose I will just reslice and export the whole thing to get it right. It's only three pages, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks

As for the navigation shifting, I'm guessing that is probably also related to the deleted invisible images. I have a 32" tv/monitor, so certain glitches show up for me that most others don't see, while I don't see certain glitches that show up on more standard displays. The navigation is fine on my screen until I zoom out in the browser, then it shifts a little bit at those smaller sizes.

Thanks again for the feedback.
