I'm using Dreamweaver MX 2004 and I'm quite new. I'm building an intranet for the organisation I'm working for and the menu I've built using show/hide layers works fine using mouseover. I've designed the menu so that the layer I mouseover shows and stays so that the user can select a link, then hides when they mouse to the next button. But, if the user mouses out into the main page the last layer stays. The only way I could get it to hide is by making all layers hide if the uses mouses over any links on the page. This works fine on the main page but other pages won't have so many links. Please advise as to how I can make that last layer just hide if the user mouses away from the menu.

You asked why use layers. Can you suggest what would be a better method. I want menus and some sub menus to show and hide as user mouses over. If they don't click on any links and mouse out to the main page, I want the menu to disappear.
