As part of my studies, we also had to learn about them, but we were specifically instructed to steer clear of them. So I never became proficient with Frames.

The problem I have with both frames/framesets and iframes is you are trying to load content from 2 or more different pages into 1 for your visitor. Which is ok, but your visitors, search engines and such may still find the individual pages by themselves with out the other frames. This can cause confusion for a visitor, and may even make it so they can't even navigate your site properly. So they move along because they can't figure it out, or something doesn't look right to them. I still find a few out there on occasion, but not nearly as many as there used to be about 10+ years ago. But if it works for you and your site, then it's great!

Now a days there are lots if option are available for the frames and hence the frame is just like a garbage material and nothing more than that of it.

I donot have much knowledge about frames. When I have learned HTML, its for SEO purpose and as all of you know it is not good for SEO, i.e. the reason I haven't used it. iframes is used in my one of clients website before I started working on it. But now it is replaced with PHP include function. HTML frames really out....
