Hi All,

I started to work on transforming all my pages to CSS3 and HTML-5.

I came into a problem with the lightbox gallery:
The javascript doesn't work and by the my normal pages it does.

The versiion that I work with:
http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/

Does anyone knows if HTML5 supourt this or I should look for another code?

Thanks in advance,

Amir

HTML5 is AT LEAST TEN years away from being usable in browsers

It's not a matter of HTML5 "supporting lightbox" but TOTALLY the other way around!!!!

Sorry my mistake...

had a mistake in the code...

by the way,
why are you asking:
"Why on earth would you do that?????????"

you don't think it's important to have your pages in the latest versions?

I don't actually. Especially NOT in a code version that HAS NOT been released yet and will not be fully supported by browsers for another FIFTEEN YEARS.

It's one thing being prepared and completely another by being stupid and CREATING yourself problems!!! that may not exist by the time HTML5 is actually released!!

I think your attitude towards html5 is pretty laughable. It's fairly simple to get a full html5 site up and running in all major browsers with nothing more than a line of CSS and a small script to make IE behave.

As far as the spec not being finalized for umpteen years.. does it really matter? Browsers are including support for more and more of the spec with every new release. And to be completely honest... html5 is great even without the flashy video and canvas elements. Using the new tags improves the semantics of your markup.

Your header is a header. Your footer is a footer. It's easy to define how different pieces of content on a page are interrelated. It's pretty exciting stuff when you really think about it.

Actually, there's nothing wrong with implementing HTML5 and CSS3, especially where mobile is concerned and Safari is the primary browser for mobile, and it supports the greatest range of HTML5 and CSS3. Chrome follows since it's webkit based, and Firefox is next. Nothing at all wrong with progressive enhancement, as long as you also account for crap browsers like IE that doesn't support much of CSS3 or html5 at all.

As long as you're not using the HTML5-specific new tags, you're ok with the current crop of browsers (except IE of course). You can always add those tags in when the ARE implemented.
