It's demise from the HTML specfication took far too long.

Personally this tag was outdated soon after it was made java has much better control and more dynamic abilities the tag has very few options.

This tag is used for driving attention of a viewer in particular thing.

They are used for driving attention on a particular thing in a web page such as special sale, discount offer, something like that.

Sure it moves text across a screen, and the blink tag blinks text, but HTML does both is very ugly and unimpressive ways. Besides what's the point of scrolling text across a screen any way, it's annoying to most people's eyes.

For modern web 2.0 effects look into JavaScript/JS frameworks like JQuery, Mootools, etc.

Now if you were being sarcastic with this post then

it is very interesting tag for word removing.

<marquee> is not that bad. just it has one slight problem of different running speed across different browsers, and a tricky syntax.

But i would only recommend using it for things like narrow fixed-width widgets (media-players, chats and so on).
