Nooo you misunderstand, It is BROWSERS that need to support HTML before it can be used!

Its probably a mixture of clever CSS, Javascript & Jquery.
Ive seen google do some VERY clever things with current technology even before html5
One thing was there you could have a ball and bounce it between several DIFFERENT browser windows. It would go from one window into another and back.
Im 99% sure HTML5 is NOT what it has been designed in, Or at least not the latest HTML5 features, Maybe some older ones that most common browsers use.
Then again html5 isnt a "new technology" Its just a bunch of newer standards that they are trying to agree on. So browsers can understand the html and css etc and all render it in the same way.
The problem is, Not everyone can agree on what should do what and how. So it will take FOREVER for it to actually become a proper standard.
Bits will just keep sliding their way into browsers over time.

Okay I will take your word for it, is it possible that HTML 5 will be able to create little browser games like this alone without other language? It seems like a long way away from current HTML !

I dont think html itself will ever make apps / games like this.
They will always rely to some extent on javascript or alike.
Html is really only used to put static elements where you want them, You will need some kind of dynamic scripting within it that can manipulate the elements.

No it won't be possible... HTML 5 does have alot of awesome benefits though. If they allowed you to make browser games I guarantee their would be so many security loopholes.

I think its a perfectly understandable question.
Internet "buzz" around html5 seems to lead to a lot of misunderstanding of what is trying to be achieved and a whole new world of Web3.0 heading our way.

Pure speculation based on Google using a HTML5 Doctype.

That's not true at all. There's nothing to stop you from using the HTML5 doctype, it renders properly in FF, IE 7 and 8, Chrome and Safari. What is not yet supported are the HTML5 specific structures such as <header> <footer> etc. We are currently building sites using the HTML5 doctype, our code is basically XHTML Strict, no problems whatsoever. Once the specific structures of 5 are supported, we can easily move forward to use them - it's called progressive enhancement

Yep, it's true. I've switched to using an HTML 5 doctype on all my projects. It just puts IE6 and IE7 into "almost standards mode". This is the same mode they are in for the html 4.01 strict mode and XHTML, so it's no different. There's no such thing as "standards mode" in those two browsers, IMO
Seeing how the Google pacman game worked in IE7 and IE8 (I tested), there can't possibly be any HTML 5 involved. It's just a combination of a nice sprite and clever programming, just like the original pacman. There is a whole subculture of people who make old video games in JavaScript, I've found several things around the web, many of them written 10 years ago when browsers were still in their infancy. The process required to accomplish it isn't that complex, it just takes work.

Now everyone here knows that this is pretty much controlled by Microsoft, Google, and Safari?
- When was the last time Microsoft upgraded IE lol... Or how often do they update it.

IE 8 was officially released as an update a year ago. IE 9 is in the works, so they're at least making an effort - finally.

In case anyone is curious, and to show that the game really does have a simple basis to it, here's the sprite that the game is using: http://www.google.com/logos/pacman10-hp-sprite-2.png
It contains literally every single image used by the game.

Okay so it might be innovative but why not just make it in flash its fast and you know it will work on my computers. I just don't see the point in making it in html5.
