Hi!

well, im new to the "divs" world, and i have to do a design like the image above, ONLY WITH DIVS, no tables allowed.

The columns have a Fixed Width and are in the center of the page.

Thanks in advance!

What are you asking about? Code?

I can tell you than you make it in 3 simple sections, body, whole site, column 1 and column 2. Columns 1 and 2 (in whole site) need to be floating. Set paramters for all sections in CSS. I think thats all, rest you can google for w3c examples or sth like that. GL.

I think he wants us to build it for him... Something so simple as that, even with limited knowledge should be rather easy for him, so I'll let him actually try before lending a hand.

Yes, what i need is the code....

i have been trying with a lot of information, manuals and tutorials, but all the time, the 2 centered columns, overflows when writing, and dont auto break the line, like in Tables.

Also, the divs/columns have the height of the content inside, so they arent fluid and their backgrounds finishes in different positions.

Could you help me, Please?

EDIT:

This is exactly what it happens to me:

That is EXACTLY how they are supposed to work, so you learn some work arounds, one of which is the faux-columns method (google it).

Here is a collection of 40 layouts, pick one as your starting point.
