Thought for today:- Is SEO the only industry where all the cowboys are Indians?
The ironic thing is they emailed this to everyone two days ago at work and on the same day we had to still make sure every setup we did was supported by IE6.
Call me cynical but I can picture a world in the future with flying cars whizzing by the windows and inside developers still told they need to support this piece of crap excuse for a browser!
I have spent 30%-40% of my design time in the past 4 years fixing IE6 bugs i hate the idiots who created this browser. The bug are so hard to find and there is so little tools to help you debug.

Most people use IE7 now. IE8 is kind of unstable still.
News to me. IE8 is not unstable. It had a couple minor bugs in it when they released it, but definitely not unstable. Also, the rest of your statement is incorrect. A majority of IE users now use IE8, not IE7.
I'm glad Mashable thinks IE6 is extinct, or almost. The stats I follow still peg it around 8%: http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php . Notice IE8 usage is more than double that of IE7.
Of course, the w3counter stats are global. Mashable's just talking about the US and Europe. This is definitely good news for anyone that only develops for those regions.

I guess that percentage of IE6 users in India is still high (definitely more than 5%) so I guess we will have to wait some time more before celebrating death of IE6!
I think this must already happened before. Many are saying that IE6 is really worse.
Than what???
