Hello,
This is my first time posting in this forum. It's nice to meet you all.
I'm looking to catch up on my HTML. I hear HTML 5 is the latest and greatest. Any suggestions where I might find some excellent tutorials on this subject?
Thanks

HTML 5 hasn't yet been released. I know that browser support for this is poor but i do look foward to web design without the need for plugins

HTML5 is developed as next major revision of HTML, the core markup language of the World Wide Web. HTML5 is proposed next standard for HTML 4.01, XHTML 1.0 and DOM Level 2 HTML. It aims to decrease necessitate for proprietary plug-in-based rich internet application (RIA) technologies such as Flash, Microsoft Silverlight, and Sun JavaFX.

Very interesting. It will be interesting to see what projects we can
use HTML 5 for instead of Macromedia Flash, although I suspect debate
amongst the HTML and Flash religious sects of our development team,
will also prove to be quite entertaining! The kind folks at webmonkey spoofed the user agent string and used Firefox, and were able to view most of the new HTML 5 eye candy..

HTML 5 defines some new tags that will make it a lot easier to embed video and audio into pages. In the same way that images are embedded using <img> tags, so now can video and audio files be embedded using <video> and <audio>. With YouTube and Video offering the HTML5 version for viewing its videos, users can now browse without having to use Flash.

HTML5 is currently being developed as the next major revision of the HTML standard. I heard that Google is ahead with the support of HTML 5, but also play all sides, Flash remains the established technology for online video. Implementing HTML 5 is still a work in progress, particularly on mobile browsers.

HTML5 is trying to find out and codify error handling, so that browser developers can all normalize and decrease time and money necessary to display things constantly. Also HTML5 is to expand capability of browser to be application platform, via HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

HTML 5 is already working its way into the underpinnings of web apps you use every day, making them faster and more stable than those relying on Java or other plugins. They're more like real apps. It's helping us inch closer to the dream of having real applications available at all times, on any platform.

That receives a "haha".

One would think Apple would be on top of pushing to have HTML5 come out faster as they pretty much banned Flash on all their products.

HTML will be supported by Firefox 3.1 and browsers. It is a standard for organizing and presenting content on the World Wide Web site.HTML5 is defined in a way that is backward compatible with the way the user can manage the content inserted.

That 12 years thing still gets me. Look at how much the web has changed in the last 12 years. I have a feeling that 12 years from now, most of the recommendations might not apply any longer.
