Please help with my strange problem

I have a website made for my brother's company (http://www.staticgrasscreations.com) and I've run into a problem.

On the terms page, the links don't work in Mozilla Firefox or Safari (aside from home and the A in About Us) but they work just fine in IE.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

XHTML coding should fix all your problems.

you have overlapping elements ususlly caused by not clearing floats correctly or by inappropriate use of absolute positioning.

NOTHING to do with "validating" the markup!

Nothing to do with using XHTML or not either

You've got everything set to position:absolute - not a good way to do a layout. Learn to use the normal document flow and floats.

Yeah, I know the layout is done shoddily, (It was just the easiest way for me to get the layout down with my brother looking over my shoulder and saying "move it left. little more. Too much, move it back...").

The layout will be fixed (now that school's out I'll have time work on it) but the major problem I'm facing is with the Links of the terms page.

But thanks for the advice on how the fix the layout.

The problem with this page seems to be triggered by the images having an alt attribute, the pages where the links work don't have alts.
This isn't the cause of the problem though, your images should have alt values, especially these ones since they're menu buttons.

Get the page laid out correctly as others have advised (ie. without using ap elements - maybe use an inline list for the menu bar?) and it should work.

If he wants the site to be done well tell him to stop looking over your shoulder and do corrections in stages.

You do a days work, he looks over it and gives you a list of changes and you then code it correctly otherwisehe is not going to have a site worth a ****.

Sorry, but that is completely absurd. The alt attribute has no bearing whatsoever on the layout problems.

Paperplate - set your <a>'s to display:block;, float them left to keep them inline, then add overflow:auto to the div they're in. Ideally your menu should be in a proper unordered list.

I have finally fixed the problem.

Those of you who were saying position absolute was evil were right.

I never would have guessed that was the problem. Now with that out of the way, I can fix up the code (and hopefully get the menu working in an unordered list).

Thank you everyone for your help.

It's only "evil" when you don't quite understand how it actually works.

Used appropriately and correctly position:absolute is very very useful.
