My question is how to make an index file to include with my notepad document on my server so I can have my domain bring you to it like a real website...I can barely do anything but people are asking to see my page when I ask for help, so I want to get it online. Now I have an image that is on the pagge and the page itself. I was told I need an index file to tell the domain what to do. Google returned some outdated 90's site with pop ups... this should be common knowledge for everybody on here so I ask how to do this...?

All depends on what exactly it is you are asking?

All the "index" page needs to be is a HTML page appropriately named for whatever server technology your site is hosted on.

Not WHERE your site is hosted, but the technology.

Windows or a *nix variant

Then your default document (index file) name choices are:

default.htm
default.asp (ASP scripting)
index.htm
index.html
default.aspx (ASP.NET)

and if PHP is on the server

index.php
