I want to redirect a url to an external webpage; with the following features:

1. put a tracking code into my url to count the visitors (as I cannot track the target page)

2. Mask the url; when the visitors are vising the target page, the url remain the original one

I am not sure that this can be done through HTML, PHP, or Javascript. Anyway, it is a simple static page needing a code to work!

Thanks for your help

Using a frameset is your ONLY option.

How can I do this, except it doesn't enclose the page in a frame, therefore masking the link?

I want to hide the link, but only before people click it. Not after.

Let's talk about the first condition; my problem is that if I use simple redirect codes like

Quote:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=http://www.target-page.com">
It will be redirected without reading my tracking code.

Have you simply decided to hijack this thread with a question of your own.

because what you are asking seems to be DIFFERENT from the original post!!!!

Other than being a redirect, it is NOT "related" and it is simply going to confuse BOTH the OP, yourself AND anyone who is trying to answer.

"Hijacking" an ACTIVE thread is NOT good forum ettiquette.

You apparently are looking to "cloak" affiliate links while the OP wants track traffic to an external page while the visitor appears to stay on the parent site/URI.
