I have runing a site, i am using JavaScript slideshow with huge images, it's take near 9 second to be load, what i will do so it will load quickly without removing images.

Just make the images smaller and it will load quicker.

as knight said... optimize the images...

not sure about your coding, optimize that as well

You could use Flash to stream the images instead of using Javascript, not sure if JS supports streaming but Flash certainly can. Users will watch the image build in blocks.

Use jqueries to load your images on the site also try to reduce the picture resolution by resizing the image tp 1600*1200.

Definitely optimizing the images is a must. JPG is a good format, you can optimize the images on Photoshop or Fireworks. If you don't have those programs I will recommend you these sites.

You can also use other technologies to create an slide shoe a little bit lighter.

If it's taking 9 seconds to load on a broadband connection, the images are most likely larger than necessary for a website. You could try resizing them. If nothing else works, you could try a different slideshow script that only loads one image at a time.

My advice is to make the images load as the slideshow progresses.

sounds like mabey all the images are being loaded when the page is loaded.

other options include...


check that the images are in a compressed file format eg jpg.

make the images smaller

use a streaming video instead

optimize images and use html to increase the speed of your site.

also, upgrade your host! Amazon cloud, ms cloud etc are decent ways to deliver lots of content fast, and only when you need it.

Java script is taking too much time moreover you are using large images in your website.

no a day i dont think that website load time is a big issue but i if u have asked then the simplest answer is dont use jpegs use gifs instead of jpegs, dont use heavy flash animation and finally run some speed test on your website so to accomplish this use following links

I think you should remove the flash image from your website.

Caching does not really help with WP when you use a 8 or more plugins.
