I saw it a bit ago... not uber impressed by it, and I don't see how it's an example of HTML "growing up". Popups and pretty animations? Flash was doing that years ago. HTML5 has much more potential than that.

It's more the fact that it is being handled "natively" rather then requiring "plugins" or "helper applications".

Yep HTML5 is capable of much more, but unfortunately pointless pretty animation and annoying pop-ups is most likely what we will get most of.

Yes HTML5 is very exciting and I love that most modern browser already support it to some degree.

Thats an awesome HTML 5 Movie made or generated in real-time with the street view and google maps with places of our choice. HTML has really grown this far and it is a great competitior for flash.

I have a small macbook, but it runs perfectly there takur? But yes, this video is cool but doesn't really show much of the really useful stuff in HTML5, but I'm sure some great demos will come soon that really shows the true powers of HTML5. Too bad it will first be in 10 years that this will be standard.

looks very cool. But I'm not downloading Chrome just to see it.

I hope people use it for more than just mimicking pointless flash sites.... it would be nice to see it used for some worthwhile usability...

Wow that was pretty neat. I think the real show stopper was at around 2:57 were the interactive postcard thing was. Haveing that kind of functionality without the use of 3rd party plugins and players is what will set HTML5 apart from the rest of the pack, and hopefully it will allow better semantics for such content, which I think is a big part of HTML5, since it should now be able to be indexed as it will be included right there on the page!

Sites that have not bothered with html code validation will then fall by the wayside or take time and money to be corrected. For designing your website website templates are available to enhance the appeal of your site to attract more customers. As a result, marketers might want to focus less on open rates and more on click-through and conversion rates.

I really like html5, but the technology is still a long way away from being used widely because of limited technology.

Html 5 still has issues with mobile devices and the fact that people still use internet explorer 6!

This will really hold back html 5 for being a serious tool, and will leave html 5 as the preserve of entertainment sites visited by people would powerful laptops and desktops.

6% of our visitors still use internet explorer 6, and we havbe to code our web pages to cater for them. We had huge issues recently of a simple css dropdown menue that works on all browsers expect ie6, and we decided to abandon the project because we couldn't afford to list business from the 6% of people who use IE6

While this is true that a lot of users are slow to adobt the latest browsers and such, HTML5 is designed with backwards compatibility in mind. Just look up graceful degredation. Here are a few links to check out.
