Hello to all, I am a newb so please take it easy on me, I havent yet been trhough this site completely. I have a question for some of the vet programmers here. First I would like to start off by saying that I learned HTML through a O' Reilly book called Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML. Now that book was awesome really gave me a good overview of HTML. Unfortunately I dont think I know enough, but I'm okay with that cause at least I know where to find the answer. My question is, how do you practive HTML and CSS so you can become good at it? Second, How hard is it to find a career in web programming? At the moment I get paid $20 a hour, for digging holes all day but thats not what I want to do for another four years. So where do I go from here? I have a general knowledge of HTML and CSS as I said before, I just bought another great book for it that is more indepth and also purchase a book on JavaSript. So please people I need guidence from real programmers that are in the field. I need to know what to study, how long should it take, how much I will most likely get paid and is it worth it. So far I really really really love HTML and Javascript so I hope you guys have some good news for me.

First of all you need to learn about punctuation and formatting posts so they are actually readable.

You build web pages, over and over and over!

That depends on what KIND of 'programming' and how good you are at it. HTML is NOT 'programming'.

I agree with both replies but also check out design blogs and such to learn the current trends and techniques and for great tips. I recommend adding mashable.com, speckyboy.com and alistapart.com. These are great sites to pick for information related to design and development. You can also search for other relevant blogs to add to your favorites to keep current with.
