Hey guys. Very new to html and all that. I was wondering how i can rotate some images without using a flash program ?? If you check out my website www.mysickpick.com you will see what i mean. I have the images rotating but i used swishmax to do it which is a flash program.

There's lots of javascript solutions for this, take a look at dynamicdrive.com/, they've got a ton of really nice ones.

Actually jQuery is even easier and there are tons of image rotators available.

what do you mean by jquery ? Can you explain a little more please

jQuery is a bunch of javascript libraries. Totally unnecessary for a small job like this.

It is a very powerful set of tools and I'd hardly call it overkill, especially if you don't know how to write javascript! It can give you a lot of functionality very easily.

This is very true, and it produces some amazing results. But for a simple image rotation, and for a novice, I would advise to just use a simple copy and paste solution like the examples on dynamic drive - they literally take seconds to install

It'd be totally unnecessary to write your own image rotators using jQuery, from scratch, if that's what you mean. There are, however, dozens of existing image rotators built on top of jQuery because it makes animation, events, etc. so much easier.. which seems like a great use of jQuery to me.

If you want to rotate images, try to use CSS3 instead of Flash. A lot of modern browsers do support it, sot why not use it.

of course. But for a simple image rotation, there are so many solutions that just don't require the jQuery libraries. I would only use jQuery for something really fancy, or if I was calling the libraries for other tasks too, like a menu system or something. Nothing slows down a page like server calls, and calling unnecessary JavaScript libraries is adding an unnecessary call.
