The dropdown menu works fine in all browsers except pre-IE7.

Gilligan,

You should be aware that most, if not all, of the "big" websites have dropped support for IE6. The percentage of people using it has dwindled to very few.

I manage the site(s) for a popular brand. I just checked their analytics, IE6 accounts for 7% of the site's visitors. It's not entirely dead but pretty close.

IE6 does NOT support :hover on arbitary elements.
