Hi guys,
I am a coding newbie, I have a general understanding of html and javascript and am attempting at making my website for my professional portfolio.

I am having some issues figuring out a certain section of the my site. I would like to create a fixed window with multiple images that scroll horizontally in one continuous string.

I am not sure if I am using the proper language but here is what I am going for. This section of my website shows all of my fashion sketches. I want it to look like one long hanging wire where the clothing will hang from on their own individual hangers. The user should be able to scroll to the left to continue to view the rest of this collection. Its like a moving closet if you will.

The way I was thinking about tackling it was, I was to save a fixed image with 3/4 garments on it with the wire background which will be a constant on all images and the garments obviously changing. All the slideshows I have seen in my research and searches are either automatic or have a large space between the images. I want it to look like one long image to scroll through. (No scroll bar just a left and right arrow for navigation.)

Any Ideas?

Or if you have the name of the what this function would be called so that I may reasearch on my own that would be super duper helpful!

The easiest way to do this is to use jQuery and one of the many slideshows that are available. Do a search on jQuery slideshows -- you'll have plenty to choose from and they're generally easy to set up.

LadynRed: Thank you I will certainly be looking into this... I was looking for something that I could build myself without a template but I will certainly play around with them.

christopher 79: I was directing the question more on how to create a fixed moving picture....

Well, jQuery is so easy to extend and customize that you can wind up with your own, but you'll at least have a starting point. My approach is usually 'why recreate the wheel' !
