You upload the banner image, edit the template files, and add the banner code just like you would if it were a regular HTML site.

Your template files are in wp-content/themes/your-theme-name/header.php. (Or whatever file you need.)

You have defined the header image from the stylesheet. i would suggest u to add the image directly in to the html and so you can easily give link to your image.
open up header.php from theme folder and find

<div id="header"></div>

replace with this

<div id="header"><a href="link here"><img src="http://wedgeeze.com/wp-content/themes/church_20/images/header.JPG" /></a></div>

Just give hyperlink to image. If it is gackground image then give hyper link to header i.e. <a href=".."></a> and try to assign size in CSS style.

No- negating borders belongs in the CSS!

actually i have the same question o.O but im using typepad

go to settings

on left hand side find header.php
