How can I make an image slice like a background so I can type content on it?

Like the main box (center) I would want to put updates and for stuff to show up there when you click it on the navigation...with frames??

Frank, to be perfectly honest, I think you are limiting your self with a design like this. Although I am a big fan of containing the width of a site I think the height should be able to stretch to any length for sites containing large amounts of content and news updates.

Anyway, if you want to continue with this layout, I would recommend making the image a background and creating a div or table layout over it. It's possible to do this without frames which I recommend avoiding whenever possible. Seeing how the design needs to retain that exact shape I don't see a reason to slice it up.
