For display of your website in mobiles you have to set frames for your website.

did you do enough research to find out about different mobile browser usage?

Androind and iphone display regular web pages perfectly fine, although you can choose to create a smartphone version without all the complicated graphics and navigation.

WAP is a dead platform, and nobody designs for these sites for wap really.

And that is not the best approach. Media Queries are the better method.

Lol. Mobile devices have changed A LOT in the last 4 or 5 years.

I guess you could use WAP, but well... it's really the worst way to make a mobile website.

In 1999 maybe. The world has moved on a bit since then, and surely with a user name like "techforums" you would keep up with technology??

Be fair: 2000 - WAP/WML was one of the themes of the WWW conference in Amsterdam that year.

And I did a really clever little site in WAP for a football club. In 2001.

Ummm, doesn't xhtml work in mobile.... it should be simple as if you were coding out a static website. Yes, there are some limitations in order to make it work across mobile devices (for example - like flash). You could get a little more fancy and try jQuery mobile too.

If I'm correct you should also specifiy the prorper meta tag
Example:

<meta name="HandheldFriendly" content="True"> <meta name="MobileOptimized" content="320"/>
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">

Here's some more resources:
Google Webmaster Central
jquery mobile
detect mobile browser
mobile boilerplate

Bit of "poetic license" instead of using the teenager saying of

"Euurgh! That's soooo last century"!

There are several points to be taken into consideration while making websites as to make it compatible with different platform. One of the things to avoid for making good mobile website design is to not use tables in the layout as this will not look good on the mobiles. CSS gives maximum compatibility there the mobile website made on CSS layout is better.

Not everything shown on a PC site can fit reasonably onto a mobile web page, where space is short and every pixel counts. It's important to reduce the amount of content shown on the mobile-optimised version.
Only include the most important content or features. Low priority content that can be removed might include content or links that are outside of the main content area, such content typically found in the right hand columns of standard web pages.
Mobile websites should be very focused. This makes them easier to read and move around, as well as quicker to load on devices that can sometimes have slow Internet connection speeds.
