There are several ways you can determine the exact color. In Opera I just load up dragonfly and use the color picker utility (I'm guessing other browsers have something similar). You could also take a screenshot and figure out the color in paint or photoshop. And of course you can just go digging in the css.

There are probably dozens more (possibly painfully simple ones that I'm not thinking of).

And of course I would suggest the same what chrishirst mentioned (by using Colorzilla). Its a good tool and handy for quick hex grabbing. And of course what NullPointer mentioned too works well (screenshot it and use your graphic editor tool to get the hex or just view the css of the site).
