Ok ... believe it or not I have been designing websites for about 6 years ... and have never asked this question ... how do I hide my host one websites?

Example ....

http://www.GOPInsight.com is the domain name ....

But everything is hosted through Hypermart. (I know ... not the best)

The url is http://natesplace.hypermart.net/gop/index.php

Well ... ok ... how do I get the links to show http://www.GOPInsight.com/newsletter.php rather than http://natesplace.hypermart.net/gop/newsletter.php ... I know I could just put /gop/newsletter.php but then if they right click ... and open in a new window it opens as http://natesplace.hypermart.net/gop/newsletter.php ... in essence ... I don't want anyone to know where the site is hosted.

Also ... I can't load images in the site using http://www.GOPInsight.com/main.jpg I have to use the http://natesplace.hypermart.net/gop/main.jpg. Why?

Is all this making sense or did I lose you already? I think I am confusing myself! HAHA!

All help appreciated.

If you have full DNS control of your domain, you can create a CNAME record that points to natesplace.hypermart.net. Then you could use subdomain.GOPInsight.com/gop/newsletter.php

Although it would probably be easier and you'll run into less problems if you moved to a paying host.

What do you mean by paying host? I pay for my hypermart account. I don't even think hypermart offers free service anymore. I will try that with the CNAME though.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize hypermart is a paid service now. Did they give you nameservers? If so you can just point your domain to their name servers instead of using their sub domain.

Just did some probing around Hypermarts website and found this:
http://hypermart.com/knowledgebase/r....bml?kbid=1498

So all you need to do is go to where you registered your domain and change the name servers to the ones mentioned in the KB article.

It didn't fix it ... I changed the name servers and it still won't load images in the doc.

Example : http://www.nathanfietzer.com/

Image I want to load in the page ... http://www.nathanfietzer.com/image/fairtax.gif

but it won't load if I put that in as the address

I have to enter http://natesplace.hypermart.net/offi...ge/fairtax.gif in the html in order for it to show up!

HELP!!

This question should be asked to your host. If they're KB article is out of date you may be using wrong nameservers, they also have to set things up on their end for your domain to work properly.

I believe the reason that the images wont load is because your host doesnt support image hosting/shareing..
For example most if not all free hosts you can upload images and view them on you pages in the same dir and in your browser, but you cant "imbed" them into foriegn pages. (image sharing i think)

Probably just switch hosts..

It's not a free host .... and they do allow me to load my images on other servers. So that can't be the reason. But you are very correct in regards to free hosts .... Angelfire started that a LONG TIME ago which is why I moved to hypermart.
