Hi Guys,
Maybe someone can help.
I have 2 websites that both point to the same IP address.
Is there a way that the index file can workout which site the visitor is there for.

i.e.
visitor clicks link or types in example1.com or example2.com the index recognises which site they are looking for and opens either example1 homepage or example2 homepage.

Im fairly new to site building. This will only be my 3rd site so make it simple....
Im using dreamweaver and flashdesigner.

Many Thanks
Sven

well you could just move one website to a new folder and point your domain or subdomain to it...

You can write a simple ASP Script (or other server side language) to check the Host header that the browser sent...
If you have access to the server, (and it's IIS), do this:

One way to do it in code:

Although he uses frames. Personally, I would be content with a Response.Redirect...

Thanks for the reponses guys.

Id actually found and had a stab at trying the 4guysfromrolla technique but my asp skills are less than zero.

Funnily enough id put the sites in there own folders and now the site seems to recognise and direct to the correct index in each folder. Ive done no coding so this really friggin confuses me.

Well its working at the moment. so im not fooling around with it any more

Thanks again.

it depends on what server software you have.

what server software (e.g. apache, IIS, abyss etc) are you using? you should configure each domain to point to the right folder.

reply with what server you software you have, if not, i have a PHP solution.
