I'm currently maintaining a site built in .Net. When making any changes is really impossible to edit. Usually one file references to another and another. Why would someone do this when there is no database to maintain. From my point of view, I would of just created the site in HTML and of course add some CSS to style it.


My question is: What can I do to or how can I make it easier for me to edit this website?. Has anyone here experience the same thing that I'm going through?.

What is the site? What is the nature of the stuff done in .NET? I can't see anyone using a scripting language when it's not really needed, that would be like me putting an entirely static webpage inside of a php echo statement.

What kind of budget does your client have? Any chance you could talk them into redesigning it for them, so its easier on you in the long run? Some things to ask.

As per the replies I received. The programmer doesn't make sense creating the site in .Net. The second response was more with what I'm going to do. I'm going to have to redesign the site. The site is only 100+ pages but not more than 200. Thanks for the replies. Really appreciate your comments.
