I'm a new designer trying to use HTML to make different colored tables, and I can't get them to display correctly in Netscape 4.77. There are lines showing up where the cells are (the lines don't show up in Explorer 5.5). All the inserted table and cell backgrounds are tagged with the same color, so I don't know what's causing it.

I have attached a .jpg showing a portion of the tables to illustrate what I mean. I realize this is an old version of Netscape but I still use it for testing purposes. If you have any advice on solving this, I'd appreciate it.

change the cellspacing to 0
cellspacing="1" (line 3)

I wouldn't worry about it if NN 4.77 is the only browser it doesn't work on!

I tried that... no difference - the cell lines still show up.

Maybe not, but it has always been a good acid test. I find that if it works in 4.77, I have had pretty good luck in having a site display very well in just about any other version/browser.

If no one can find a fix for the code, I am open to suggestion for a more appropriate "older" browser to check pages in.

Believe it or not, I still have one important industrial client that not only wants their site to look OK in older Netscape versions, but @ 640 x 480 as well!
