Anyway i have a vb board on a test server and i want it to be viewed like a post nuke site, kinda like a board with a menu to the right/left am i right in thinking an iframe would be what i need to acheive this?

You don't need an iframe, and certainly shouldn't use it. Try the PHP forums.
