You mean an image link to a secure site?

Code:
<a href="https://www.paypal.com/"><img src="myimage.gif" /></a>
It's as simple as that. There really is no difference.

Header Image URL - Please specify an image that is a maximum size of 750 pixels wide by 90 pixels high. Larger images will be cut to this size. The image you choose will appear at the top left of the payment page. We recommend providing an image only if it is stored on a secure (https) server.

We recommend that you enter an image URL for your custom page style only if the image is stored on a secure server. If the image is not stored on a secure server, your customer's web browser will display a message that the payment page contains insecure items.

You can determine whether or not your image is stored on a secure server by examining its URL. The URL for an image on a secure server will begin with https:// instead of http:// (Note the additional s.)

That what i need :-)

Ah, in that case you need an SSL certificate, your host can help you with that one, although their not cheap.

you can also get SSL certificates thru other sources....from what I see its like godaddy is for domain names.....

Like cptnwinky said a SSL certificate is not cheap at all in fact they are very expensive and I belive renew on a yearly basis much like a domain name......

Although I could be completely wrong .... take a look at Verisign's SSL site

Some hosting providers offer shared SSL. It came with my package for no extra cost. You can put your image n that and it'll still work. I had the same issue...

There are other, cheaper SSLs than Verisign's. Try Thawte or Free SSL they both have much better prices, although you get a discount if you buy more than one. So if one is all you need then you might pay more.

Hope that helps,

Kaiman

You can also sign your own certificate. However, this will result in a message popping up when a user visits the site that says something like "the security cerficiate in use was not signed by an entity you have chosen to trust...". Although annoying, it is free. (For any professional site, you should really pay for a properly signed SSL certificate).

The reason for using SSL in the first place is to prevent annoying messages from appearing on the browser...

Heheh, good point So hopefully you'll be lucky and have a provider that can give you access to a shared SSL certificate

I dont know if this issue has been resolved but i figured i would add my 2-cents since i just went through the whole ssl process.

Since you have your own dedicated server you are in good shape to start.
If you are going to have multiple domains then you will need to either buy a "server cert" or have all your domains point to the domain with the ssl cert when there is a need for secure pages.

I would recommend Geotrust, they are much cheaper then Verisign and they handle the Equifax Certificates which are equally as accepted as the verisign certs. The certs offered by godaddy.com will not be accepted by most browser with out an initial popup requesting the user to accept it. But if you want to make sure that the certificate you are about to purchase will be accepted by 99%+ of all people just open your IE Browser and look at the "trusted Root Certification Authorities" under the content section in your internet options
