Currently I have a Directory listing on my home page. When you click on it, I get a 404 Error. How do I make it open the PDF file or the .DOC file???

If you are using a Microsoft Server like NT that has Acrobat Reader and Word on it, you should be able to view the file by pointing the link to the file name with either a .doc or .pdf extension, depending on the file type. Is this what you mean?

Same goes for any Linux server. .doc or .pdf are the extension you are looking for.
