Q1. How do you stop 'copying' images using the 'right hand mouse button submenu' when 'over the image' on a webpage.

Q2. Also, I am sure there's not a lot I can do about image lifting, but is there a way to inhibit the use of screen capture tools ?

ANy ideas would be helpful, Simon.

You can disable right-click with Javascript, but it's both annoying to users who have a legitamate reason to right-click, and it's completely useless. If someone wants an image they'll get it. It's as simple as turning off JavaScript or going to View - Source to find the URL of the image.

Your best bet is to watermark your images with your logo or URL.

Minaki is correct. It's rather pointless to try and "protect" your images online. If you don't want them stolen, then the only 100% solution is not putting them online. Anything can be copied through the methods explained above. I've never heard of any method to inhibit a screen capture program. Watermarking is good, but the bigger the mark, the uglier the picture may get. If you were a professional photographer, I would recommend DigiMarc. But it's rather costly unless your pics are worth some money.

These are good points you make.... the watermark sounds liike the best option, I will set something up in photoshop using a transparency effect.

Cheers.
