Hi All,

I'm looking at the below url

http://www.deltaonline.co.uk/

An wanering for the life of me how this site comes top of search engine inquires on both yahoo and google. I am suspecting in more as well.

Im looking at the code and it's not exactly accessable, there appear to be no real references in the meta tag and yet if i search online for a product they sell it comes first in the browser.

Search for #1607 9GB HDD or any of the other list products and the site hits first.

How an earth is this done. Have they paid for the listing?

cheers
Steve

Meta Keywords and Descriptions aren't as important as the page's content any longer. The reason why it comes up top with "1607 9GB HDD" is because the page http://www.deltaonline.co.uk/ibm_mainframe_processors_disks_controllers_tapes_p rinters.shtml" lists that item asone of the top items on the page. The spiders pick that up in their keywords ... thus giving it a higher search engine ranking for that term. I have found that some of the highest ranked sites have little or no meta tags. It is all in the content.

and it is not competitive

I look after a site that sells laptops and laptop spares. And this is the technique I use, target precise phrases and/or part numbers. very few bother doing this level of optimising. but by being this precise you get real buyers rather than the "tyre kickers".
