Hello, my html knowledge is all over the place, so i am having trouble with what should be something simple (i think)

I need a border around this p[art of the table. (the 'text' is actually a whole page of text)

HTML Code:
      <td width="623" valign="top" >text text text text text text text text</td>
I tried quite a few ways (css) and no luck, and dreamweaver doesnt have that option making me think that its not as easy as this.

any help would be great, thanks guys

Try:

<td width="623" valign="top" style="border: thin solid Black;">text text text text text text text text</td>

Works here in both IE and FireFox.

To simplify it make a class for the <td>

<style type="text/css">
.tablecell{border: thin solid Black;}
</style>
<td class="tablecell">text text text</td>
