Hey everyone,

I'm not great at HTML but I discovered this a few years ago, if you place
<marquee WIDTH="0"> before a HTML tag and obviously </marquee WIDTH="0"> after the tag then whatever is inbetween is squished into a space of width 0 and is therefore not visible on the page, it's good for hiding web counters so only the webmaster can tell how many people have really visited the website... (It is also capable of hiding the adverts on geocities hosting but shhh thats against the rules)

I have suspicions that this is being used in this website, actually it's one of my favourite websites on all the internet!

Anyway, if anyone knows any other tricks like this one for crafty HTML use then post them here!?

the <marquee> tag is actually supposed to give an element a marque effect but its deprected so shouldn't be used. If you want to hide things you can use two different CSS rules.
Either
Code:
#randomDiv {display: none;}
Or
Code:
#randomDiv {visibility: hidden;}

You also don't need to repeat attributes in HTML Tags:

Quote:
and obviously </marquee WIDTH="0">
You can just write
<marquee width="0">Text Here</marquee>

And yeah, use CSS to hide things as opposed to that tequnique. The marquee tag is horrible... they use one on a forum I go on. Somtimes I use my phone to access it and it doesn't half make the screen flicker...
