Thanks for taking the time to help out WebcyteDesign. I had missed the small 'c' which was on both local and remotes files. I have noticed these 'c's' before in files that do get corrupted and have no idea why they appear. I always edit carefully in code view.
I will leave the page as it is for a few days in case someone can recognise what is going on here. If not, I will re-upload the page minus the 'c' and see what result that has.
I downloaded the corrupt page from the internet and took a look at it in DW. What a mess it was. Amongst other things -
1. This was inserted:
<META content="MSHTML 6.00.2800.1498" name=GENERATOR>
2. <body> was changed to <TBODY>
3. All html elements were capitalised.
4. The reason the "> appears at the top left corner is because the code was changed to topMargin=)>">
5. Some of the style classes were within the <TBODY> element instead of the <head>.
6. Quotation marks were omitted from the html values.
These things do not appear in the source code of the page when viewing on the internet but they all got downloaded and were viewable in DW.
Man, what could be causing such gross corruption! As I said I don't have this happen at work.
Thanks again for pointing out the 'c'.
