Uploading Template To Host Errors

Purchased and downloaded a CSS template. Edited it using 1st Page 2000. Everything appeared as it should. I added various scripts, animations, ETC.

Today I uploaded one of my template pages to my host cPanel so that I could work on other additions in relation to RSS feeds that could not be viewed on my editor. When I uploaded my template, the page layout and images did not appear as they should. I named the template an index file, uploaded each of my source files, images and animations to my root. Also, when I tried to HTML edit the index file at my cPanel, it mentioned that it may not appear correctly due to an ActiveX conflict. I updated the AX on my browser. Still the same thing. Friend enters my domain from his browser, same thing....I tried a different template from the set that I purchased. Still will not appear correctly. My template is from Pixill Mill and the author of it is John Galt, so I just don't see the template being the source of my errors whatsoever as these are reputable sources.

What's going on??? Not the sharpest knife in the butcher shop when it comes to web publishing! lol Any suggestions on what could be the problem and what needs to be done? HELP!!!

Hi FM

Here is the URL to my site:
http://www.eaglesnestusa.net

Here is the link to my template from the vendor:

Here is an example of the template in action from vendor:

I tried using the cPanel upload and my FTP Client both. I have deleted the files and uploaded them three times. All files have been uploaded to the root. My logo replaces the globe in gif form. I have changed the animation file. All this is working fine on my HTML editor, 1st Page 2000. My FTP Client is Smart FTP.

Hi majhnsn,

2 things I noticed; firstly you have things in your <head> declaration that you shouldn't, like a lonesome </script> tag and also <span id="tP">&nbsp;</span>. Secondly, I couldn't find the file styles.css, and it is this that styles your site. Did you upload it?

Gringo-

Edited out those items. AND, downloaded the styles.css file. We are making progress but the appearance is still out of whack. Grey background & a few images remain missing....I temporarily removed this index and uploaded a unaltered template backup to determine if I had more code irregularites. No change. Ran my HTML though a program on 1st Page 2000 editor to determine what other irregularites there might be. There were a host of them so, I am going about making those changes. Yet, this still does not explain why the backup template with no errors does not work properly as well. Maybe I have failed to load an additional file....I looked into this last night and could not find any but will check again.

Could it be that there is a conflict with my template and my Unix/Linix based host? Appreciate the help!

-M.
