Not sure if this is the right section to place this, but here goes.....

I'm looking for a way to have the same effect as if I was using frames for the layout of my website, but not actually using frames.

I'll try and explain a bit better!
I have sorted the layout, i.e header, footer, menu bar and main content section.
But what I want to be able to do is when I select a link in the menu bar I want it to open up in the main content section, without having to load the header, footer, etc.

If this isn't possible, is there a way of having the header, footer, etc as a different file so I only have to make the changes to these sections once.

Thanks for any help you may be able to give me.

Not using basic HTML anyway AFAIK. I would use SSI to do the job.
