DW converting my XHTML to XML after applying template

I have been given a DW template that a design group has done for my company under the pretence that I could place all of the image and everything where we want them and update the site. Once I create a new page and apply the template all of my images go crazy and it wont let me change the code (within editable regions) to change the images. I have noticed that DW adds the line “<?xml version=”1.0” encoding=”iso-8859-1”?> in front of the rest of my code. Why is it doing this? I am using DW MX. I went to a friend’s house that is using DW MX2004 and I did not have this issue. This is making me look really bad at work. Is there a fix for this?

Oh, also once in the document it will also not let me change the code within my editable regions because of this same issue. It gives me the error code “Making this change would require changing code that is locked by a template or a translator. The change will be discarded.” This also did not happen on the DW MX2004 version.

Any fixes or hacks to make it stop doing this?

Thanks

Task

there is a strip xml extension which u need to install to get rid of that line.

each time you save, it automatically will remove it.

you can find it here

www.dwfaq.com/store/detail/?id=faqStrpXML

and its a free one.

if u cant find it, let me know.
