I found this site that tells you how to disable the right mouse click menu.

From what I have heard though, people can find ways around the whole "right click disable" thing.

It's really not a good idea to disable the right click. It's still easy to download your images and all you'll end up doing is keep people from wanting to come back to your site. When you put something online you have to accept that's it out there and that people will be able to copy it if they want.

I think disbaling the right click will drive people away from your site and also come across as a challenge to others to try to grab more from your site than the image you tried to prevent them from downloading.

Easy way around it would be to disable Javascript. If you don't want people stealing images, you could aways try disabling hotlinking.

This will generate your .htaccess file, it's pretty simple.

I agree with VanGogh. Disabling right click can irritate visitors.

An example of this being a problem is that IE users can right click to add your site to favorites. In this instance they might not return.

Besides, they can still do a Print Screen, paste this into an image program and crop your image from there.

If you want to protect your images, place a watermark or copywrite notice on the image itself.

Yep, not worth annoying many just to stop a very few because they can;

Use view source and copy the image URL.
Or Save As and the images are saved as well.
Or they can take a look in the Temporary Files cache on their hard drive.

I use a script I made that puts an automatic watermark on the images. It doesn't modify the image itself, the origional file stays unwatermarked. The watermarking is done in-memory so is very flexibale.

Let me know if you want the script, it's in ASP.NET

I believe FF also works around that code. Besides anytime someone goes to a site everything is downloaded to their computer and they only need to go to the temp internet folder. *yoink*
