Hi guys, i'd be extremely grateful if you could help.
Im editing a template i bought from templatemonster, in Dreamweaver, which i'm managing very slowly, trying to save a bit of cash as we are a new glazing business, and wondering what a good idea that was!!!

basically, there is a form on the template, which customers can input their details, for a call back, however, i have no idea how to assign the "submit" button at the bottom, to send this information to our email address??? any help is muchly apreciated.

I wish i could offer something in return....... maybe some cheap glass?

you need some server side code to send the message.

What does your host support? and we'll take it from there.

Chris hi, thanks so much for your time.....

at the moment, we have no host or hosting, its just a downloaded template, which i'm editing throught the design page through dreamweaver. not uploaded anything yet.

should i wait to upload the site to our hosting people, when we finally find someone, before i tackle this problem?

As we are on the subject of uploading, i'm curious about 1 thing. For example my home page is called a10glass ( domain name is www.a10glass.co.uk ) however the sub pages, are currently called windows.htm, doors.htm.

would i upload the site file as is, and expect the hosting to categorise these into the correct url, i.e www.a10glass.co.uk/windows.htm or do i have to rename each page as such.

many thanks again ( no, really ) for your time,

DS

cheap and reliable don't always go hand in hand

I would recommend the company I am a server tech for and host with but we don't offer general public hosting at all, business clients only so no links to them. (PM me if you want details). Anyway enough self promo

One company I have had experience with is PlugSocket UK based with UK IPs (useful for local results in SEs). Another is FreshLook Hosting UK based but the servers are in Canada.

It is easier to setup for the emailing once you have the host sorted and you know if it is going to be ASP, PHP, Perl + CGI etc.
Similar with the naming of the "home" page, it will depend on what type of server and technology it is.

One problem with templates is your site will likely look like thousands of others and may not be SE friendly.
