I'm creating a website, which will probably be written in PHP, but I need the HTML to be correct first. I'm trying to line up text, with an image field. The image has several fields, and I need to put a form box to enter the info, but more importantly once completed to show the info lined up with each field on that image. I've tried using the image as a background, inserting portions of the image, but Dreamweaver doesn't want to cooperate. It looks great on Dreamweaver, but the browsers don't look so hot. You fix one part, another part gets jacked up. I've spent WEEKS trying to figure this out! Does anyone have any suggestions? Here is an example of what I"m trying to do: http://www.netreview.net/example.gif

In that example you see the text "Field" which is on the image itself, and right below it is a box. This is where I want my text to show up. If I can't use it as a form, it would be ok, but need to show the text there later. Is there a way to line this up? I'm stumped! Thanks

Tim

Tim I'm not quite sure what you're asking. The example you gave just looks like it's a table. I don't see where you would need images for what you have. Are you trying to make an image of the grid of lines? Or is everything in the example on top of the image?

If you can provide a little more detail I'll be happy to help.

I used the image in hopes that it would help explain it, because it really is difficult to explain. Lets try this.....The image is already created. It isn't that one, however its similar to that one in the way it has things setup. Along the top it has several fields, all of which are different widths. In Dreamweaver 4 when I create the tables, it looks great, but then in the browsers is off. This means the text does not line up with the fields on the image. Sometimes moving a column width line actually screws up the whole table too. Does that help? I'm not sure of a way I can really explain it well, other than I need my inserted text, either by me or a script, to insert the text inside the image field. The problem lies in the image already being created, I have to model the page after that image. Since the fields aren't a set witdth, its been very difficult to line my text up. I've uploaded another image that maybe will help? Its the same location as the first. You'll se the red text in there, in this case just numbers however on the actual page it will have both numbers and words. The red is the text I'd either put in myself, or a script would put in, but you can see how the columns just don't line up, this is similar to what I'm getting in Dreamweaver using tables. The image is at: http://www.netreview.net/example.gif

There isn't any right now, I deleted it. I've tried several different ways and had a rough time. I figured there has to be a way to get this to work, but I can't think of it. If I create a page again I can list the code.

Tim I think I understand now. That image is pre-existing so you need to match it. The reason I asked earlier was that I was thinking you could just add borders to the table cells and not need to use an image at all.

I think we'll need to see some code in order to help though. If you can create a page again and either post the code or add a link to where the page is I'm sure someone here will find a solution for you. If you could put the page online somewhere and post the link i think that will be easier, but if posting the code is easier for you that should work fine.
