I've been working on something like this, however the idea was to integrate it with other forums but as I have it now, it's running off a single website. Source code (GPL) is available but it's Alpha and all the bugs have not been ironed out yet. It's still missing a lot of features, just I haven't had time to work on it. I'm thinking of doing more work on it as well as changing it from flatfile to database.

Uses AJAX and PHP. Can be previewed at http://mastercomputers.uni.cc/ObJAX/objax_example.php source code etc is viewable in the parent directory http://mastercomputers.uni.cc/ObJAX/

Tried my best getting it to work under IE, although some errors still are around.

A lot will change when our community implements an easier project manager, which was why the stale development for this, because I didn't want to get too ahead of myself.

In HTML (and CSS)

but seriously, You need a mix of client side and server side code (as in MCs post) it cannot be done in HTML alone.
