I've created an xhtml page with 30 photo image miniatures each of 25KB more or less. Now i wolud like to know if there is a better way to do a photo collection page with, for example, a few miniatures. Is there a maximum value in KB?

No, just consideration for load times. There are still people in dial-up who may not wait around for a huge page full of graphics.

Thumb nails are usually just a few kb 6 - 15

25 isn't bad. You could get them smaller I am sure. If you use photoshop you can crank down the quality and probably see only a minimal difference. With a thumb nail quality isn't as important.

Yeah you should be able to get thumbnails under 10kb, but there's not hard and fast rules about them. The goal though is to get them as small as you can.

Did you created the smaller images in an image editing program or did you size them using html?

Chip I haven't seen you around here in awhile. Maybe I've just been missing your posts. Good to see you again.

I've been pretty busy. A few projects I'm working on have kept me away from the forums for a while. I'm trying to make some time to visit more frequently.

Thanks for noticing Vangogh.. @;-)

i've made theme resizing in the gimp. Maybe, for those who have slow connections, i can put a text that says the number of images to load if they click on the link that point to the miniatures page no?
