I am trying to bold two lines on one of my pages. However, when I bold it and end the bold, for some reason the entire remaining page shows bold not just the two lines. Then, when I go back into the text editor and check the code, the </b> is gone.

I am getting so frustrated here. Does anyone have any thoughts as to why this is happening. Any ideas would be appreciated.

here is the page if you want to view the source code:
http://www.seethisitem.com/why_use.html

I just want the following bold,

Provide a Photo Preview of your Newspaper Classified Ad Items
What types of items would benefit from online photos?
Cars for Sale:

And, the headings. Not the whole page.

Not an actuall solution, but try <strong> and </strong> to make it bold.

Do you write the source yourself or do you use a WYSIWYG editor?

Janet it looks like you turned the bold on, but never turned it off. Don't forget the closing tag.

That is what is so odd. I put in the closing </strong> and preview the page and it looks good. I save the page and when I view it, it is all bold. I go in again and check the coding and the </strong> tag is gone. Do you know what I am doing wrong here?

Sounds like you may be using a WYSIWYG page editor either offline or online that is being stupid and stripping your ending tags away. Or maybe (and this has happened to me) edit one file, and accedently uploading another to the live web server.

Try disabling it and see if that helps. If you can't disable it, see if you do a straight upload of the html file by http upload or ftp
