Missing Background Color in Firefox

I'm finding some reference to this issue on the Web, but most occur due to CSS issues. I have two tables with background colors. The colors are #ffcc00 and #660099 respectively.

These background colors show up properly in IE, but do not show up in Firefox. For an example, check out http://spidercreations.net/dev/xtrememarine/ - the bottom two tables should show the yellow and purple respectively.

Again, in IE the background colors show properly, but they are missing in Firefox.

Your assistance is appreciated.

Regards,

Steve

All hex values are required to have # infront of them. Your table backgrounds don't have the # sign infront of them.

Exactly, beat me to it. This is where IE's loosey-goosey non-standards compliance comes in, it renders the colors even though the REQUIRED # is missing.

Why do it with tables anyway ? You don't need them for layout.

Thank you.
Fixed.
I hear you about the tables, they are just so ingrained into my design choices now it is hard to get away from them. If I can find the time, I'm going to figure out more about CSS to avoid them.
I also need to figure out PHP and MySQL, but that's another story.
Thanks again.

Ok.. great. Here's a really good book to help you convert to tableless designs:
