I have went over the tutorial on W3C on using the <object> tag, but it doesn't go into enough detail as to how to use it. The explanation of the attributes aren't very clear, and the use of the <param> element isn't very clear either.

I want to have a "wmv" file play in a web page, and not just launch the users player, but this isn't explained, at least not that I can find. Can someone point me in a direction so I can figure out to do this?

I would like to have the player embedded in the page and the file to play in the media player. I've seen it on a number of sites, but I can't seem to find an explanation as to how it's done.

Any suggestions?

This looks like it should help, thanks. But is there somewhere I can go that will walk me through each parameter to explain what it does? Even if it works, I want to know why. Inquiring minds want to know.


I aso noticed it uses the <embed> tag. That has been deprecated. Is there a workaround for that?
