Ok, I have an iMac running Safari. People are telling me that a link on my site is off alignment. go to http://www.houseofpaign.com. Do you see where it says "Post a FREE Ad!"?

It's a table with an button image as the table background. Apparently the text is off-centered.

What am I doing WRONG?!?! I have no idea.

Anyone out there smarter than I am? (i hope so!)

here's my HTML code:
<center><table border="0" width="294" height="71" background="http://www.houseofpaign.com/post.gif"><tr><td valign="middle" align="center"><a href="?q=add"><h3>Post a FREE Ad!</h3></a><td></tr></table></center>

A sure fire way to get around this is simply open up the image in Photoshop (or some other graphics program) and create a new jpg just as you have it.

true, but the CSS dictactes a red hover underline under links. So if i have an image that is also a link, it shows up as underlined when i hover the mouse over it.

was that clear? maybe a confusing explanation... any ideas?

IE PC - it is a little bit above middle. Center is fine. Plus the link does show the underline on mouseover. It doesn't look bad however.

What is happening is the margin on the h3 tag is throwing things out of wack in IE. Try using a class style to remove the borders from the h3 tag on the *Post a FREE ad!* text. I.E. uses the margin space as the overall height of the h3 tag and this throws the thing out of wack when using valign="middle"

Looks okay to me on IE6 for the PC.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about IE for the Mac. Microsoft doesn't even support it any more and recommends you download Safari (or something similar.).
